About the event

Food as Art: Behind the Bite is a free, all-ages community event presented by the Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas (CD Forum) celebrating Seattle's Black culinary creatives and entrepreneurs.

Inspired by CD Forum's annual Food as Art fundraiser, this special evening features a conversation with Donna Moodie, Founder and Owner of Marjorie Restaurant, and Harold Fields, Founder and Owner of Umami Kushi, as they share the stories, inspiration, and artistry behind their culinary journeys.

Join us at Midtown Square Plaza on Friday, July 17, from 6:00–9:00 PM for an evening of conversation, community, and culture—followed by a dance party with a live DJ!

Come hungry for inspiration and stay for the vibes!
