In the short month of February, Black History Month, ARTE NOIR showed up for community. We shared Black Love with a free day of photos provided by our partner The Elite Collective, and the L-O-V-E, love was front and centered. People came through and documented their love of self, relationships, and community. One lovely patron put it best in her Instagram post documenting her visit.
“I headed to ARTE NOIR for a day date with my love to attend their "Celebration of Black Love" event. I had been wanting to visit the space for a while, and yesterday was the perfect time. The space is beautiful and the staff is uber friendly and helpful. Arte Noir is truly about community and allows Black creatives to shine. I walked away inspired and can’t wait to go back. In her instagram story she describes ARTE NOIR as “a vibe y’all.”

During Black History Month, many of the local television outlets made their way to ARTE NOIR too. Our thanks to Fox 13, Angela Russell and the KING5 Evening team for hosting your program from our space, and thank you to KOMO's Tyrah Majors for your spotlight and especially for giving Blessed & Thankful candles, and Menkeli Kanna’s Doti Naturals skincare the shine on their fabulous products sold at ARTE NOIR.
We’re so grateful to the women and men who make our work possible and meaningful. As we move toward Women’s Herstory Month, we’re excited about the upcoming Gallery Onyx exhibit that will feature all women artists. Expect our March issue to spotlight more women holding up the sky in our lives and our community.
