Continued education is a key component of the path to liberation, as is gathering with community. So when we learned that our friends over at Jacob Lawrence Gallery launched a new year-long program this past October called The Liberation Book Club, we were thrilled! The Club began to honor the gallery’s commitment to social justice and to gather the community to consider the work of liberation through shared texts, art, film, music, conversation, and workshops. Each month, the club will approach the topic of liberation from several perspectives. Unlike your traditional book club, all the reading and study happen together, and preparation is not required (another aspect we love!).
