Where can you find a celebration of cinema and culture, opening and closing night galas, after-parties and after-after parties, all packed with some of the most accomplished Black filmmakers, actors, producers, writers, and creatives in the world—woven between more than 60 film screenings over eight days on a picturesque island?

Summer has a rhythm all its own. It invites us to gather—for cookouts, festivals, long conversations on porches, and, perhaps most importantly, family reunions. There is something sacred about returning to one another, introducing younger generations to elders they've only heard about, telling the old stories again, and discovering new ones along the way.

Every month, we strive to contribute another piece of Black history, thought, documentation, authentication, opinion, and critique. We celebrate artistic achievement, examine cultural movements, preserve stories, and create space for voices that too often go unheard.
